Cake Bling

This was a last minute cake request.  I learned that if I do a last minute cake... can't be overly elaborate!  Why?  Sadly, the ring was rushed and was not hard enough so the it didn't stay as round looking!  I did make the isomalt diamond which was fun.  The bling on the sides... purchased from a cake supplier in New York... expensive but fun so I had to buy some! It is several rows of silver rhinestone mesh.... not edible.  I am going to order some gold rhinestone mesh also.

Fishing Creel Groom's Cake

This was a fun cake to make.  Sheet cake with a smaller round cake with a sugar cookie lid.  Purchased the gummy worms but everything else is edible.  The bride picked up the cake and was sure that her fiance would like it!  Hope that he does!

Sarah's Graduation

I decided to do something "different" for Sarah's graduation cake.  Thought that I would recognize her years of achievement by commemorating where she will be going to college.  Since Columbia University is in New York City, I used some outlines of NYC buildings.  The crown is the orginal logo used back in 1754.  I believe there are several crowns in use but this one was easier for me to cut out of gum paste.  Cake was almond vanilla (my favorite).  She loved her cake.  The fondant was pretty good (Albert Uster). Good Luck Sarah Faith!

Pink Ruffled Birthday Cake

Sarah Faith's 18th Birthday cake
I wanted to try a ruffled cake and decided to experiment for my daughter's birthday.  For a first attempt, I thought it turned out fairly well.  More importantly, the birthday girl LOVED her cake!
