I decided to do something "different" for Sarah's graduation cake. Thought that I would recognize her years of achievement by commemorating where she will be going to college. Since Columbia University is in New York City, I used some outlines of NYC buildings. The crown is the orginal logo used back in 1754. I believe there are several crowns in use but this one was easier for me to cut out of gum paste. Cake was almond vanilla (my favorite). She loved her cake. The fondant was pretty good (Albert Uster). Good Luck Sarah Faith!

This was a cake for Jennifer's graduation. It was a lot of fun to make. Cake travelled to Chapel Hill for her party. Cake is buttercream with fondant/gumpaste decorations.
